These grants targeted to specific needs can make a person’s home more healthy and comfortable.

Housing Information and Loans are Available

There are government housing grants available to help home owners, potential buyers, and renters through information and technical assistance. People who have an urgent housing need are eligible for free help. While these are not grants to purchase housing or pay rent, this free help can prevent someone from losing housing.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) publishes resources for home ownership, which include help for home buyers. There are also free housing counseling services that help individuals find ways to save money and buy or improve their home.

While there are no grant options, information may help a home owner find a lower interest loan, refinance their debt, or learn ways to conserve energy and reduce costs.
